There are more than 30 public and private pre-K through high schools in Hood River, Sherman and Wasco counties, serving thousands of boys and girls, young men and women. TriCounty Hazardous Waste & Recycling wants to be a partner to help schools minimize waste, maximize education with opportunities to teach environmental education lessons that align with Oregon Core Standards, and assist in shaping our leaders for our future.
We are here to partner with our schools and assist staff, faculty, students, and parents. Please use these resource pages to make great sustainable schools in our region.
Waste Audit
Do you feel like your school has a lot of waste, but are not sure how to address that? Start with a Waste Audit. TriCounty Hazardous Waste & Recycling staff and volunteers can help set you up for and conduct a waste audit to determine those areas where you are doing great, and those areas where your school can improve. Once you’ve identified these areas, you can work with your Green Team to develop solutions to those waste challenges. A follow-up waste audit will show you how well you are doing.
